The life I saw in Dallas Willard confirmed that change was possible. I had never met anyone so like Jesus; even after 25 years as a Christian, I was still quite unlike what I observed in the New Testament. I wanted more. Dallas’ writings and life were shocking: shockingly loving, kind and like Jesus. What resulted was a vision for my current life alive in God's presently available kingdom. I learned to order my life around God while relying on Jesus to bring inner character transformation. Eventually this process became my doctoral dissertation content.
Now I assist others who also want more in their life with Jesus, as I offer Spiritual Direction and Spiritual Formation Training.
My Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) is from Ashland Theological Seminary. I have degrees from Miami University, Ohio State University and John Carroll University in Spiritual Formation, Education and Christian Spirituality. I am an alumna of the Renovare International Institute for Christian Spiritual Formation (Menlo Park, CA), the Ignatian Spirituality Institute (Cleveland, Ohio) and Christian Formation and Direction Ministries (CFDM, LA, CA). I am a classically trained spiritual director.
As a Renovare Institute Faculty member, I work as the Academic Coordinator.
I teach Spiritual Formation to graduate and doctoral students, and other groups. I serve as doctoral advisor to spiritual formation students.
Ohio and Florida are home to me. I am married to Bob, a small business owner, have wonderful adult children and have been involved in Christian ministry most of my adult life. I am particularly concerned for those in ministry and care-giving work, given the high burnout rate in such fields.
