Spiritual direction focuses on your particular human experience and how you are (or are not) bringing that into discussion with God. It centers on the actual life conversation that exists between you and God.
The spiritual director guides you with questions, designed to help you pay attention to what God is doing in your life and count on God’s presence. A typical question in spiritual direction is: How have you been hearing God in your life? Or not? There may be something you specifically wish to talk about, and I am open to that. However, spiritual directors do not give advice but help you pay attention to your interaction/non-interaction with God and the connected issues.
Though unseen, God is substantive and spiritual direction honors that, helping your soul awaken more and more to the reality of Jesus with you. Time honored practices for engaging at the street level with God may also be offered.
